32 Years of Caring

Started in 1989, Desert Sands Assisted Living at the Sunrise Garden Villas cater to residents who have a mental health diagnosis who need some help with daily living activities. We are a 42-bed Type A Large assisted living facility licensed by the State of Texas, permitted and regulated by COSA. Residents enjoy three home-cooked meals a day, transportation to and from doctor’s appointments, housekeeping once a week, laundry once a week, activities, and medication monitoring. With over 25 well-trained, compassionate staff dedicated to the well-being of our residents, some of which have been with us for over 20 years.

I came to Sunrise Garden Villas because a friend of mine told me about the facility. I have been here since August of 2020. So far I like the structure here. I also think the price we pay is good because it includes a lot of utilities, such as all bills paid, three meals a day, housekeeping, and much more. Staff is also on property 24 hours a day and laundry service. The staff believes that it is good to interact with others so there is a day program next door to the facility and transportation is included to get back and forth. The day program is a lot of fun cause there are inside activities along with outside activities plus coffee and meals are provided. We are usually at the day program Monday-Friday from 730am-2pm. Snacks are provided, morning medicine and if you have a 2 o’clock medicine our nurse Monica reminds you of when your medicine is due. Thanks to all of our staff for going out of their way and being here for us.
